The Daring Fireball weblog points out a new feature added to Mac OS X in the recent 10.4.8 release. That feature: Quick zooming using the scroll wheel or track pad. “a server that has a nice graphical interface” — isn’t everything just a front-end to the command line Subversion program? The 1.2 version of ZoomText for Mac is provided as a free download on our software library. The latest version of the application is supported on Mac OS X 10.8 or later. The unique identifier for this program's bundle is com.AiSquared.ZoomText. Our built-in antivirus scanned this Mac download. Due to increased security and permissions with Mac OS 10.14 Mojave and 10.15 Catalina, you will be prompted to authorize the Zoom desktop client and Zoom Rooms client to use the microphone and camera. On Mac OS 10.15 Catalina, screen recording will also need to be authorized.

Hercules is an open source software implementation of the mainframeSystem/370 and ESA/390 architectures, in addition to the new 64-bitz/Architecture. Hercules runs under Linux, Windows (98, NT, 2000, and XP),Solaris, FreeBSD,and Mac OS X (10.3 and later).

Hercules is OSI Certified Open Source Softwarelicensed under the terms of the Q Public Licence.

Hercules was created by Roger Bowler and is maintained by Jay Maynard.Jan Jaeger designed and implemented many of the advanced features ofHercules, including dynamic reconfiguration, integrated console,interpretive execution and z/Architecture support. A dedicated crew ofprogrammers is constantly at work implementing new features and fixing bugs.

The Subversion source code repository

The complete source code for the current development version ofHercules is also available via anonymous access from our Subversion sourcecode repository. The Subversion URL is:

Doing a checkout on module 'hercules' will get you the source for all ofHercules. You'll want to check out the trunk, instead of the wholerepository:

svn checkout svn://svn.hercules-390.org/hercules/trunk hercules

(The last hercules specifies the directory the checked out copy isplaced into.)Please note that this will get you the currentdevelopment version of Hercules, which is notrelease quality and thus might not even work (since it's still underdevelopment). If you want the current, stable, release versionof Hercules (i.e. one that is known to work properly), then use thepreviously mentioned links instead.

To set up zoom, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Accessibility. Click Zoom in the sidebar, then select any of these zoom features:

Use keyboard shortcuts to zoom

After selecting ”Use keyboard shortcuts to zoom,” you can use these key combinations to zoom:

Zoom in

To zoom in, press these three keys together: Option, Command, and Equals sign (=).

Zoom out

To zoom out, press these three keys together: Option, Command, and Minus sign (-).

Toggle zoom

To switch between no zoom and your last amount of zoom, press these three keys together: Option, Command, and 8.

Use scroll gesture with modifier keys to zoom

After selecting ”Use scroll gesture with modifier keys to zoom,” you can press and hold the Control key while scrolling with your mouse or trackpad to zoom. Use the ”Zoom style” menu to choose from three zoom styles: full screen, split screen, or picture-in-picture.

Enable Hover Text

After selecting ”Enable Hover Text,” you can press and hold the Command key, then move your pointer over an item to display a larger, high-resolution version of that item.

Use the Options button in the Zoom pane to set the size, font, location, and color of this text. Learn more about Hover Text.

Enable Touch Bar zoom

After selecting ”Enable Touch Bar zoom,” you can touch and hold the Touch Bar on your MacBook Pro to display a larger version of the Touch Bar onscreen. Learn more about Touch Bar zoom.
